Situation

Pontresina has around 2,000 inhabitants and lies at an altitude of 1,805 metres above sea level in a side valley in the Upper Engadin. It is characterised by historical Engadin houses and the elegance of Alpine grand hotels from the Belle Époque. Pontresina is also situated close to the Bernina massif where two of the Engadin’s most famous peaks can be found: Piz Palü and Piz Bernina.
Pontresina offers countless activities for bon vivants and thrill-seekers alike: opportunities to ski and snowboard, mountaineer, mountain bike, hike, play tennis and try out many more activities are all right on the doorstep. There are also a great many cultural institutions and events.
